Privacy Policy

Privacy Policy
Options United (OU) respects the privacy of the visitors to and users of its websites &/or apps (the “Site & App”). This Privacy Policy is for the purpose of advising visitors of and to the Site & App of the measures adopted by OU to protect the privacy of visitors, including the use and disposition of certain personal information submitted by visitors. It is important that each visitor reads this Privacy Policy carefully, as it, in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions applicable to the Site & App, applies to each visitor’s access to and use of the Sites &/or Apps and any content thereon.
By accessing and/or using the Site & App and any content, each visitor (1) acknowledges that he or she has read and understands this Privacy Policy, and (2) acknowledges, understands, consents, and agrees that all of his or her use of and access to the Site & App and the content is subject to this Privacy Policy, as may be amended, supplemented, updated, altered, revised, or otherwise modified from time to time, in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions.
1. ANTI-SPAM POLICY
OU is committed to helping fight unwanted email (“spam”). OU will not send spam email, and OU will not sell or, subject to Section 4 below, disclose your (“Your”) email address to any third party. If You have received spam from a made-up (i.e., “spoofed”) Options United email address, it did not originate from OU, nor would OU have anything to do with any such e-mail . If You think You received spam originating from OU, please contact OU by sending an email to info@optionsunited.com and OU will research to see if it is from a legitimate email user, and take appropriate action if necessary.
2. AWARENESS
OU provides this online privacy policy to inform You of the way Your information is collected and used as well as to make You aware of OU’s security practices. OU will also provide You with the opportunity to remove Your name from our email mailing list, if You desire to do so.
3. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
There are three different ways in which OU collects information from visitors on the Site & App:
(a) From online & app requests for information (i.e. e-mail newsletters, contact forms, etc.);
(b) From online & app requests for materials or orders from OU; and
(c) From user-submitted information for possible inclusion on the Site & App (i.e. testimonies).
The information OU collects online may include name, address, city, state, ZIP/postal code, telephone number, e-mail address, credit card or other payment information, and any written information You provide. In order to continuously improve OU’s service to You and tailor OU’s future communications to You, OU may also ask You to provide OU with information regarding your demographics, comments, professional interests, and contact preferences. As more particularly stated in Section 8 of this Privacy Policy, OU uses “cookies” to collect and store browsing data related to a visitor’s visit to the Site & App, which may include sending one or more cookies to the visitor’s device. Notwithstanding the foregoing with respect to personally identifiable information, OU may permit third party data repositories to collect a visitor’s browsing data related to the visitor’s visit to the Site & App, who may in turn sell such browsing data to other third party entities. The browsing data obtained from the Site & App for a visitor will not itself be or contain personally identifiable information of such visitor.
4. HOW THE INFORMATION IS USED
OU uses Your information to understand Your needs and provide You with better online donor or customer service. OU may use Your information to complete a transaction or to personalize OU’s Site & App for You. If You so desire, OU may also use this information to update You on projects and activities. Credit card numbers or other payment information are used only for payment processing and are not retained for any other purposes. OU may periodically send You e-mail announcing news. However, OU will not send You e-mail that you have not agreed to receive. If You choose to supply Your postal address in an online form, You may receive mailings from OU, as well. OU provides You the opportunity to remove Your name from OU’s email mailing list, if You desire to do so (see Section 12 of this Privacy Policy).
5. NO SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
Unless notified with ample time before such occurrence OU does not sell, rent, lease or, subject to the permissible disclosures identified below, exchange your personally identifiable information that has been provided to OU on and through the Site & App with other organizations. OU restricts access to personally identifiable information obtained from visitors of the Site & App to those employees, contractors, and agents of OU who need to know the information for the purposes and usages identified in this Privacy Policy, and who are either subject to contractual confidentiality obligations or maintain their own privacy policies.
OU will not disclose a visitor’s personally identifiable information to any non-affiliated company, individual, organization, or entity, except in any of the following circumstances:
(a) The visitor has provided his/her consent to such disclosure;
(b) To provide necessary information to third parties who perform services or functions for or on behalf of OU in connection with the management, operation, and maintenance of the Site & App; provided, however, that any such third parties are either subject to contractual confidentiality obligations or maintain their own privacy policies;
(c) The disclosure is reasonably necessary to (i) satisfy requirements imposed under applicable laws, rules, regulations, ordinances, or any enforceable judicial or governmental demands, subpoenas, summons, orders, or decrees, (ii) enforce the Terms and Conditions, or (iii) investigate violations of the Terms and Conditions; or
(d) In furtherance of the pursuit or defense of an actual or threatened legal proceeding and the claims and assertions made therein, whether asserted by or against OU, provided such disclosure is limited to only that which is reasonably necessary to further OU’s pursuit or defense of such claims and proceedings, as the case may be, and provided further that OU takes reasonable precautions to attempt to ensure the information disclosed does not become a matter of public record (though OU shall not be liable or responsible if, having taken such reasonable precautions, such information does become a matter of public record).
6. SECURITY
OU is committed to ensuring the security of Your personally identifiable information. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the proper use of information, OU has established and implemented appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the personally identifiable information OU collects online. However, the communication of information over the Internet, whether sent or received, is generally not secure. Notwithstanding any other provision of this Privacy Policy or the Terms and Conditions of Use, and in no way expanding the scope of privacy protections that may be set forth herein, OU cannot, and does not, warrant or guarantee the confidentiality or security of any information in the transmission thereof to or from the Site & App.
7. USER SUBMITTED INFORMATION ON PUBLIC SITE & APP FORUMS.

OU is in no way responsible or liable for the discoverability, collection, or use of such User Communications by third parties.
